Environment Bank - Nature Restoration Award Winner 2023
As we enter the final stretch of 2023, we’re incredibly proud to announce that Environment Bank and its top trailblazers have recently received awards to mark our continuing nature restoration work.
Great British Entrepreneur Awards
We were delighted for our Chairman, Professor David Hill CBE, to win North East Sustainability Entrepreneur of the Year on behalf of Environment Bank this November. He was joined at the ceremony by Sam and Rachel, ecologists from our South East team, as well as Alice from our marketing team.
The Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards aim to honour and support entrepreneurs in the UK, fostering a sense of community and providing assistance throughout their journey.
Notable for their competitive nature and track record of recognising businesses that become household names, these awards are highly regarded in the entrepreneurial arena for their commitment to excellence. This makes David’s win an even bigger achievement for us.
The judges said “Environment Bank demonstrates a commendable vision for our environment, showcasing a strong focus on continued development and the potential to drive significant change. With ambitious plans on the horizon, Environment Bank aspires to make a significant impact on all our futures.”
The Green Apple Environment Awards
For 30 years, the Green Apple Environment Awards has aimed to recognise, reward, and promote environmental best practice globally. We’re honoured to have been recognised as National Gold Winner for Environmental Improvement within the Farming and Agriculture sector.
Our work to restore low-yielding arable farmland is transformative – replacing degraded landscapes with thriving Habitat Banks. We’re really proud to see this hard work recognised by the Green Apple Awards.
Yorkshire Post Business Excellence Awards
With our national head office based in York, we were also thrilled to receive the prestigious Sustainability Award at this year’s Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards.
Our Head of Marketing, Fraser, was really honoured to attend the awards ceremony and dinner held in Leeds, hosted by BBC Look North presenter Amy Garcia. It was wonderful to join the 400 guests from across the Yorkshire business community to celebrate together.
P.E.A. Awards
We’re pleased to say that David has also been nominated for a Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming P.E.A. (People. Environment. Achievement.) Awards. They are honouring individuals and teams whose incredible work in the sustainability and climate field is having an incredible impact on our planet.
