Community engagement
Enhanced access to nature is vital for the wellbeing of our communities. With a national network of Habitat Banks and a passionate team of biodiversity experts, we’re taking every opportunity to help local people of all ages and backgrounds be engaged and inspired by the nature restoration work underway on their doorstep.
Habitat Bank visits
Welcoming local nature groups and community organisations
We arrange group visits so local people can experience a large-scale nature project in their area and get the chance to spot rare and notable species of flora and fauna found there.
If you’re part of a local charity, nature group, youth programme, or community organisation and would like to arrange a group visit to your nearest Habitat Bank, please get in touch.
School outreach
Getting young people engaged in nature recovery
We visit schools where we offer talks and interactive sessions with quizzes and activities to help them become inspired about their local ecosystems.
If you’d like us to visit your school or there’s a Habitat Bank from our national network that’s local to your school, please get in touch and we can arrange a visit from one of our biodiversity experts.
Our school galleries
We’ve been delighted to visit a number of schools, including several local to our flagship Nature Shares project, Bog Hall Habitat Bank at the Castle Howard Estate in North Yorkshire. We’ve been sharing details of the project with the pupils, helping them understand habitat restoration, in particular our upcoming beaver release programme. We’ve enlisted their help in illustrating our wildlife, and some of this wonderful artwork will be shortly selected to appear on signage at Bog Hall Habitat Bank.
